Artists, organizers, and activists dedicated to supporting the vibrant and diverse range of independent young artists in and around the DMV, as well as dismantling the powers that be. This collective was est. 2014.

We work with a variety of artists and creatives to develop projects in ever expanding genres and mediums. Check out our music, books, events, and more!

Music

Twin Moon has published over 30 musical releases from a variety artists. Originally focusing on local DMV musicians, we’ve expanded in recent years to focus on creating a new community of musicians and artists bonded by collaboration and similar goals. We are not a record label, but work with bands on a release-by-release basis. If you’re interested in working together, please get in touch!

Books

Twin Moon members and affiliates have helped produce several zines, magazines, and blogs comprised of written works of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Determined to accrue enough of a foundation to well support the voices of those unable to easily contribute to mainstream media, we are always on the lookout for writers to collaborate with. As publishers, we have no strict qualifications for what sort of written works we accept; anything from short stories, essays, articles, reviews, to the occasional acrostic poem. If you are a writer with something to say, we implore you to consider contacting us. All written works published by Twin Moon may also be found in digital form on our upcoming portfolio website.

Events

Strange Adventures is an annual benefit music and arts festival organized by Twin Moon. The most recent Strange Adventures, number 4, was held at St. Stephen and the Incarnation in DC in August 2018. Over the past four years we’ve hosted bands, artists, performers, and poets including Near Northeast, Mike of Doom, Bleary Eyed, Cool Baby, small dad, Young Bull, Reaux, Cramer, 8Hundred, Dissonance, Femme Flag, Flowerbomb, Foggieraw, Foster Carrots, and more

We are guided by a commitment to our points of unity:

ANTI-FASCISM

Fists up, fight back!

ANTI-RACISM

We are always trying, with our art and words and actions, to dismantle white supremacy in our spaces and ourselves.

ANTI-PATRIARCHY

We embrace the struggle for the destruction of patriarchy in all its forms, especially misogyny, transphobia, and homophobia.

ENVIRONMENTALISM

We recognize the absolute necessity of sustainability in a world hurtling toward ecological collapse and strive to reflect that in our work.

ANTI-CAPITALISM

Twin Moon is committed to countering the exploitation and destruction inherent in capitalism both ideologically through our work and by materially supporting organizations working for justice within our communities.

Conor

Conor

Troglodyte Poet

Conor is a writer and musician with a passion for sound in all of its forms. Ironic that he took ear protection lightly for his first many concerts. One of these days, when a ringing comes along in his ear, it won’t go away.
